Rays Reach World Series After Caminero’s First Postseason Homer
Tampa Bay beat Cleveland 7-3 in ALCS Game 6, with Junior Caminero’s first postseason home run adding two runs before the Rays sealed their third American League pennant.

The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Cleveland Guardians 7-3 in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series on October 19, taking the series 4-2 and reaching the World Series. It is the Rays’ third American League pennant in 29 seasons, the Associated Press reported.
Junior Caminero gave Tampa Bay breathing room in the seventh inning with a two-run home run, his first in the postseason. Yandy Díaz later added a two-run homer in the eighth. The MLB game story records both plays and the Rays’ advance.
Caminero had hit 42 home runs during the regular season, according to AP, but entered the game still looking for his first postseason homer. His seventh-inning shot extended Tampa Bay’s lead from 3-1 to 5-1. Cleveland scored twice in the eighth to make it 5-3, then Díaz’s homer restored a four-run cushion.
Starter Freddy Peralta worked 5 1/3 innings. The Rays held the lead through the final inning and will face the National League champion Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series. AP said Game 1 is scheduled for Friday night in Milwaukee.
