Marvel's Zodiac: A Spy Thriller Coming to Disney+ in 2028
Marvel Television announced Zodiac at New York Comic Con on October 8, a spy thriller that will shoot in London from spring 2027 and stream on Disney+ in 2028. Marvel confirmed the genre, the platform, the production start and the casting window, while the cast, the creative team, the episode count and the story remain unannounced.

Marvel Television announced a new series called Zodiac at New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 8: a spy thriller that will stream on Disney+ in 2028 and start filming in London in spring 2027. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel's head of television, animation, comics and franchise, said casting would begin within a couple of weeks, and he would not describe the plot. "And no, I can't tell you anything else about it yet because it's a secret," he told the Empire Stage crowd.
The three facts Marvel put on the record
Winderbaum opened the Marvel Television and Marvel Animation panel by revealing the Zodiac title and logo for the first time. He described the project as "a spy thriller" and pointed the room toward the artwork instead of the story. "And for anyone who knows the comics, if you look closely at this title design, you'll see a few clues about where we're going," he said.
Those two sentences are the confirmed story material. The cast, the episode count and the comic books the show may draw on are all unannounced, and the announcement named no writer, director or showrunner. Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Stephen Wacker opened the session with comics news before Winderbaum took over, and host Brandon Davis moderated. New York Comic Con ran from October 8 to October 11, and the panel fell on the opening day.
Zodiac was the one project at the panel with no footage to show. VisionQuest, which premieres October 14, screened its first episode for the room, and the other titles discussed on the Empire Stage have episodes in production or finished, which is why the Zodiac segment rested on a title card and two sentences from Winderbaum. Marvel bills Zodiac as a Marvel Television series rather than an animated project, and the panel carried both live-action and animation news on the same stage.
The production timeline behind a 2028 premiere
Filming has not begun. Zodiac will shoot in London starting in spring 2027, roughly six months after the announcement, and Marvel says the series will premiere on Disney+ in 2028. The company has not said how long the shoot will run, when in 2028 the show arrives, or how many episodes it will have. Winderbaum said casting starts in a couple of weeks, so no cast is attached yet.
Casting, filming and post-production all sit between the October 8 announcement and the 2028 premiere window. Marvel has released no teaser, concept art or cast list.

What there is to watch before Zodiac
VisionQuest is the next Marvel Television premiere, on October 14, 2026, only on Disney+. The 2027 slate includes X-Men '97 season 3, the final season of Daredevil: Born Again, and Marvel Zombies: The Winter Soldier around Halloween. Zodiac and Marvel Zombies: The Fist of Khonshu share 2028, and Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian is set for 2029. Marvel has not published months for the 2028 titles.
Why the logo is carrying the speculation
Winderbaum's one clue about the content was that the title design points to the comics, and he did not say which ones. Fans have been working from the artwork since the panel. On r/marvelstudios, the announcement thread held about 6,400 upvotes and 900 comments four days later, while a second thread noting that actor Clark Gregg shared the announcement reached about 2,200 upvotes. A thread asking whether the logo contains the S.H.I.E.L.D. eagle had roughly 900 upvotes and 100 comments, and smaller posts with a few dozen votes are guessing at the cast.
None of that is confirmed. Marvel has not said whether Zodiac adapts a published storyline, a character, or a new story set in the same world, and the series title does not match any Marvel Studios film or series already announced for 2028.
What Marvel has not said about Zodiac
Marvel has not announced the characters or said whether Zodiac is planned as a limited series or an ongoing one. It has also not explained how the show connects to its films and other series, or whether it shares their continuity. Winderbaum declined to explain the title design during the panel. Disney+ is the only confirmed home.
Release mechanics are unpublished as well. Marvel has not said whether episodes will arrive weekly or in a batch, or how the series will be scheduled outside the United States.
