Genshin 7.1 Offers Two Five-Star Invitations With Different Unlock Rules
Version 7.1 offers a limited six-character selector gated by AR 18 and Act IV plus a standard-pool invitation gated by Wish access; both run to November 3. New-character banners end October 13, while anniversary rewards follow separate schedules.

Genshin Impact Version 7.1 has two one-time five-star character invitations, but they use different pools and unlock rules. The limited invitation requires Adventure Rank 18 and Archon Quest Chapter VII, Act IV; the standard invitation only requires the Wish feature to be unlocked. COGNOSPHERE's full release notice lists both events and their separate deadlines. Version 7.1 launched on September 23; as of October 12, the character-wish banners are the nearest deadline, while both invitations remain listed through November 3.
The limited invitation has a six-character pool
The limited event lets a player select one character from Tartaglia, Nilou, Baizhu, Chiori, Clorinde and Varesa. The selected character comes with Ascension materials, and the notice allows one invitation during the event. The account must be Adventure Rank 18 or higher and complete Chapter VII, Act IV, "A Rekviem for the Underworld."
For players who have not reached Snezhnaya, the same release describes a catch-up route: an account at AR 18 that has completed Prologue Act III, "Song of the Dragon and Freedom," can travel to Snezhnaya and accept Chapter VII, Act I. From there, the player can continue through the current story. This route starts the chapter chain; it does not remove the Act IV requirement for the limited invitation.

The standard invitation uses Wanderlust Invocation
The second event allows one five-star character from Wanderlust Invocation, the standard Wish pool. Its stated requirement is that the Wish system be unlocked. The release also says players who register after Version 7.1 ends can receive a standard-pool invitation in a later event during Version 7.x; it directs readers to future notices for the details.
That continuation is stated for the standard-pool event, not for the limited six-character event. Players choosing between them should compare the named pools and check the event screens before using either invitation. Each event includes the selected character's Ascension materials, but the two invitations remain separate rewards.
Do not confuse invitations with character banners
Version 7.1 also introduced Vesna and Vodyanitsa through event wishes. Their banners are separate from both invitation events, and neither character appears in the six-person limited invitation pool listed above. The release lists those banners through October 13 at 18:59, while both invitations run through November 3 at 15:59.
The notice does not state a timezone beside those cutoffs. Since the banner and invitation deadlines differ, use the countdown on the account's in-game event screen rather than treating the dates as interchangeable or waiting until the last minute.
Other anniversary rewards are separate again
The anniversary package also includes 10 Intertwined Fates, 1,600 Primogems and a reset of the first-purchase bonus for Genesis Crystals. The reset restores the purchase bonus; it is not a free Crystal grant. The mail event opens September 28 at 01:00 for accounts at AR 2 or higher and runs until Version 7.1 ends; each message expires 30 days after delivery. The cumulative-login event runs October 1 at 01:00 through October 19 at 04:59 and requires AR 5.
How the eligibility gates work in practice
If an account has Wishes unlocked but has not completed Act IV, it meets the standard-event gate but not the limited selector's story gate. An AR 18 account that has completed Prologue Act III can use the Snezhnaya route to start Chapter VII; an account at AR 18 and through Act IV meets the limited selector's story requirement.
