Nintendo says its Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will launch on Nov. 5. In an overview trailer posted Oct. 14, the company highlighted an unusual feature: players can hum or play a melody Link has learned, and the console’s microphone can make the in-game ocarina respond.

The announcement describes overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes with expanded dialogue, and symphonic orchestral music. It also introduces the Hall of Fallen Heroes, where players can inspect defeated monsters and fight them again.

The microphone feature

Nintendo’s post explains that the feature responds to a melody Link has already learned. It does not specify which songs are recognized or how precisely players must perform them, so the announcement establishes the interaction but not its full limits.

Nintendo lists the game for Switch 2 and gives Nov. 5 as the launch date. That is separate from two new Ocarina of Time amiibo figures it says will arrive in 2027. The figures unlock special masks in the game; existing Zelda-series amiibo also provide rewards when tapped during play.
