The WNBA lists no venue for Games 3, 4 and 6 of the 2026 Finals, the three games the Atlanta Dream are scheduled to host. State Farm Arena, the building downtown, is booked on all three dates, and the Dream have not announced where they will play.

What the league's own game pages show

Game 1 is set for October 17 at 3:30 pm Eastern at Chase Center in San Francisco, and Game 2 follows there. Golden State is the higher seed at 32-12 and Atlanta is 30-14, and the higher seed hosts Games 1, 2, 5 and 7 in the best-of-seven series, according to the league's playoff page.

Game 3 has a date and a time, October 22 at 8 pm Eastern, and no arena name: the venue field reads TBD. Game 4 on October 24 at 3:30 pm Eastern is the same, and so is Game 6 on October 29 if the series goes that far.

The two teams arrived differently. Atlanta beat Washington in the first round and then swept New York in the semifinals, while Golden State eliminated the defending champion Las Vegas Aces to reach the first Finals in franchise history, according to the league's recaps. The Dream have reached three Finals, and the Guardian reported that this is their first since 2013.

Why State Farm Arena is out on all three dates

State Farm Arena publishes its own event calendar, and it is full on each of the three nights.

October 22 has a concert by Sombr at 7 pm. October 24 is the Hawks' regular-season opener against the Rockets at 8 pm. October 29 is another Hawks home game, against Cleveland, at 7 pm. The arena also lists a concert on October 25 and a Hawks game against Miami on October 28.

The same calendar lists a preseason Hawks game on October 12, a concert on October 13 and a comedy show on October 16.

The Dream had already booked it for a potential semifinal Game 5 on October 14, which the calendar still shows. They swept New York in three games, so that date was never needed.

The arena the Dream have been selling out

Gateway Center Arena in College Park has been the Dream's home from 2021 through this season, and the team says it has sold out every game there over the last three seasons. Both points come from the club's announcement of its 2027 arena deal.

The capacity numbers do not agree. The arena's own site describes a 5,000-seat venue, while reports about the Finals put the basketball capacity at 3,500. What is not in dispute is the gap: the Dream say they have sold out State Farm Arena eight times in the last three seasons, including multiple games with more than 17,000 fans.

Atlanta's home games were already split between the two buildings this season. The Guardian reported that six of their 22 regular-season home games were played at State Farm Arena, and that the three home playoff games there drew an average of 9,695 fans.

The demand is not in question on the club's own account. The same announcement says season ticket membership has grown more than 400 percent over five years under the current ownership and that the Dream have sold tickets to buyers in all 50 states. Because the team says it has sold out every game at Gateway Center Arena for three seasons, the constraint on a Finals game there is the number of seats rather than the size of the crowd.

What the downtown move in 2027 changes

On October 6 the Dream announced a multi-year agreement making State Farm Arena the home for all Dream games beginning with the 2027 season, when the league expands to a 50-game schedule and Atlanta gets 25 home dates. The club is already selling 2027 season tickets for the building, with deposits of $27 for a lower-bowl membership and $100 for a premium membership, according to the same announcement.

That agreement does not cover 2026. Club president and chief operating officer Morgan Shaw Parker said last week the team was "finalizing details on their home venue and where we will be playing", the Guardian reported.

Atlanta played three home playoff games at State Farm Arena this postseason, and the club's own recaps place two of them there: the first-round opener against Washington and Game 1 of the semifinals against New York.

The options that have been reported

The Guardian reported that the Dream explored larger alternatives, including Gas South Arena in Duluth and Georgia Tech's McCamish Pavilion, which Georgia Tech lists at 8,600 seats, without reaching an agreement. Reports on Monday said the Dream would stay at Gateway Center Arena, but the team has not confirmed a venue and the league's game pages still read TBD.

The WNBA has staged Finals games away from a club's regular home before. Atlanta hosted a game during the 2013 finals at what is now Gas South Arena, and the Washington Mystics played three games of the 2019 finals at a 4,200-seat building, according to the Guardian's report.

If the Atlanta games stay at Gateway Center Arena, they would be played in the smallest building of the series. Golden State has sold out every home game this season at Chase Center, the Guardian reported.

What has not been decided, and when it matters

Nothing is settled until the Dream or the league announce a venue. Fans need to know the Atlanta venue before buying tickets and planning travel.

Game 1 is October 17 at Chase Center. Game 3, wherever it is played, is October 22.
