FiftyPlusOne says Wedgewood Polls posted a public statement admitting that it had been fabricating data after the aggregator asked for comment on an investigation. The account appears in FiftyPlusOne’s October 20 report.

What the aggregator checked

FiftyPlusOne says it independently confirmed that Jack Sims had previous experience in the polling industry and reviewed Wedgewood’s methodology statement. It also reports that Wedgewood collected donor money for crowd-funded polls and shared raw survey data with the aggregator on October 15. FiftyPlusOne says it later confirmed that this data was fraudulent. Checking a pollster’s background and written methods is a separate question from checking the survey data itself.

What the report does not show

The account does not establish a motive, quantify an election effect, or provide an independent audit. The specific admission remains attributed to FiftyPlusOne’s report.
