Five weeks into the 2026 NFL season, San Francisco and Minnesota are 5-0, Kansas City is 4-0, and Miami, Tennessee and the Los Angeles Chargers are 0-5. Every club in the AFC North and the NFC North has a winning record or better, and the Giants and Commanders hold the season's only tie.

Five weeks into the 2026 NFL season, two teams have not lost, three have not won, and one game is still to be played. San Francisco and Minnesota are both 5-0, Kansas City is 4-0, and Miami, Tennessee and the Los Angeles Chargers are all 0-5 in the standings the NFL published on 12 October. Buffalo and the Los Angeles Rams have each played four games, because their Week 5 meeting at SoFi Stadium is listed for Monday night.
The two teams at 5-0
| Team | Record | Points for | Points against | Differential |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| San Francisco 49ers | 5-0-0 | 154 | 93 | +61 |
| Minnesota Vikings | 5-0-0 | 109 | 64 | +45 |
| Kansas City Chiefs | 4-0-0 | 118 | 77 | +41 |
San Francisco has the best differential in the league, plus 61, from 154 points scored and 93 allowed. The 49ers are 3-0 in the NFC West, 3-0 in the conference and 2-0 on the road, and their five straight wins are level with Minnesota for the longest current run.
Minnesota has allowed 64 points, fewer than any other club, and scored 109. The Vikings are 4-0 in the NFC and 3-0 on the road, with the same five-game winning streak.
The 4-0 Chiefs and the clubs on four games
Kansas City has scored 118 points and allowed 77, a differential of plus 41, and the Chiefs are 2-0 in the AFC West and 4-0 in the conference. They have played only AFC opponents so far this season.
Kansas City is one of four clubs that have played four games rather than five, along with Buffalo, Carolina and the Rams. Buffalo is 3-1 and the Rams are 2-2, and their meeting at SoFi Stadium is the only Week 5 game listed as still to be played, with a published start of 00:15 UTC on 13 October.
The three teams at 0-5
Miami has scored 70 points and allowed 132, the worst differential in the league at minus 62. The Dolphins are 0-3 in the AFC East, 0-5 in the conference and 0-3 on the road.
Tennessee has scored 58 points, fewer than any other club, and allowed 109. The Titans are 0-2 in the AFC South and have not won in three home games.
The Chargers have scored 84 points and allowed 129. They are 0-2 in the AFC West and have lost all three home games, and their differential of minus 45 is the fourth-worst in the league.
All three have lost five straight and none has a division win. All three are AFC clubs, and the NFC has no winless team.
Every division after five weeks
The AFC East has Buffalo at 3-1, New England at 3-2, the Jets at 2-3 and Miami at 0-5.

The AFC West has Kansas City at 4-0, Denver and Las Vegas at 3-2, and the Chargers at 0-5.
The NFC East is the only division holding a tie, with the Giants and Commanders the only two clubs whose records include one. The Giants are 3-1-1, Philadelphia and Dallas are both 2-3, and Washington is 1-3-1.
Minnesota leads the NFC North at 5-0, with Green Bay, Detroit and Chicago all at 3-2.
In the NFC South, Carolina is 2-2, Atlanta is 2-3, and Tampa Bay and New Orleans are both 1-4.
San Francisco leads the NFC West at 5-0, with Seattle at 3-2, the Rams at 2-2 and Arizona at 1-4.
Ten clubs sit at 3-2 across the two conferences, and Carolina and the Rams are the only clubs at exactly .500.
The best and worst differentials
Jacksonville is plus 53, the second-best differential in the league, at 123 points scored and 70 allowed. The Jaguars are 3-0 at home and have won three in a row.
Baltimore is plus 27 at 4-1, has won three straight and is 3-0 on the road. Detroit has scored 164 points, more than any other club.
At the other end, Arizona is minus 54 after allowing 162 points, the most in the league. Washington is minus 34 and New Orleans is minus 33. Three clubs have winning records despite being outscored: Cleveland at minus 19, Denver at minus 14 and Green Bay at minus 8.

The NFC East holds the season's only tie
The Giants are 3-0 at home, while Washington is 1-1-1 there.
The Eagles have lost three in a row, and the Cowboys have scored 138 points, the fourth-highest total in the league.
Two divisions with no losing records
The AFC North and NFC North are the only divisions with no losing records. Every AFC North club is above .500, and every NFC North club is at .500 or better.
Streaks and home records
Three clubs have lost five straight: Miami, Tennessee and the Chargers. Arizona has lost four in a row, and Philadelphia and New Orleans have lost three.
Pittsburgh is 3-0 at home. Houston, Tennessee, Tampa Bay, New Orleans and the Chargers have each lost all three of their home games, and Miami, Atlanta and Arizona have each lost both.
Seattle is 2-0 against non-conference opponents, and San Francisco is 3-0 inside its division.
The London game and the Monday night game
Week 5 opened with the international game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Jacksonville hosted Philadelphia. It closes at SoFi Stadium, where the Rams host Buffalo in the game the NFL lists for Monday night.
What a 5-0 or 0-5 record does not settle
Five games is under a third of a 17-game season. The published standings show that no team has yet clinched a playoff berth, division title or wild-card place.
