Glastonbury 2027 Tickets Sold Out: What the Festival's Rules Still Allow
Glastonbury's ticket pages state that tickets for the 2027 festival have sold out, with a resale of cancelled or returned tickets expected in spring 2027 after a general sale that had been scheduled for 9am BST on 4 October 2026. The same pages set the £408 price and £100 deposit, an April 2027 balance window, a 7 May 2027 refund deadline, local and Sunday allocations for catchment residents, hospitality applications for media and music industry workers, and a ban on transferring the photo-personalised tickets.

Glastonbury 2027 tickets are gone. The ticket information pages now state that tickets for next year's festival have sold out and that a resale of cancelled or returned tickets will follow in spring 2027. General admission had been scheduled for 9am BST on Sunday 4 October 2026, after ticket and coach deposits opened at 6pm on Thursday 1 October. Registration closed at 5pm BST on Friday 25 September and, in the festival's wording, will not reopen until after the October ticket sales.
Three routes are still described on those pages: the spring resale, a sale held back for local residents, and hospitality applications for media and music industry workers. The same pages set out how refunds work for people who already hold a ticket, and the rules meant to keep touts out.
The price, the deposit and the April balance window
A general admission full weekend ticket costs £408, including a £5 booking fee, with postage and packing of £11.25 per order of up to six tickets. It covers Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027 at Worthy Farm.
Buyers pay a £100 deposit per person during the sale and the remaining £308 in the first week of April 2027, from 09:00 BST on Thursday 1 April to 23:59 BST on Wednesday 7 April. Car parking passes and cancellation protection can be added then, and postage and packing is charged with the balance rather than at the deposit stage. Coach bookings also carry the coach fare and a £3 administration fee. Each transaction is limited to six tickets.
The ticket covers first come, first served access to more than 4,000 performances across more than 100 stages, five nights of camping with no early entry fee, a programme, mobile phone charging, the on-site newspaper and the festival app. Rides and activities in the Kidzfield are free. The festival says recent editions have given over £3 million a year to Oxfam, Greenpeace, WaterAid and other causes.
How the October queue decided who got in
Both sales ran at glastonbury.seetickets.com, the only official seller. When a sale opened, everyone already on the page was randomly assigned a place in a queue for the booking process, and anyone who arrived after the start went to the back of it. The festival told buyers to be online at least 10 minutes early and warned that refreshing the page or using several devices or tabs would lose their place. A progress bar showed the distance to the booking page.
Inside the booking process, a registration number could be locked for up to 10 minutes after incorrect details, or once the five minutes allowed on the booking page ran out. A failed transaction released the registration number if tickets were still available.
Coach and ticket deposits went first, at 6pm BST on Thursday 1 October. Coach buyers picked one departure town plus a Wednesday or Thursday departure, and could not book from two towns in a single transaction. A coach booking cannot be converted into general admission, travel on the chosen coach is required in order to receive the festival ticket, and tickets cannot be collected on site.
Why a ticket cannot be handed to anyone else
Every ticket carries a photograph of the registered holder and is checked at the gate, so tickets are non-transferable. The ticket page states that "resale of tickets is strictly prohibited and will result in the cancellation of your order". Anyone aged 13 or over needs a registration number before a sale, and a buyer acting for a group needs each person's registration number and registered postcode.
The same pages rule out several sidelines. There are no VIP or backstage tickets for sale, hospitality tickets offered by the festival's neighbours may not be booked through third parties or agencies or on a ticket-only basis, and the festival says it does not offer tickets to concierge services.

What holders can still do about refunds
An unpaid balance triggers an automatic refund to the card used, minus a £25 administration charge, and the tickets are cancelled. A holder who cannot attend can ask See Tickets for a refund before 23:59 BST on Friday 7 May 2027, again with £25 retained and an extra £15 retained on cancelled coach bookings. Part-cancellations are not possible.
Refund Protection can be bought when the balance is paid and covers the unforeseen circumstances listed in the terms. It excludes lost tickets and foreseeable events. After 7 May 2027 tickets are non-refundable, and delivered tickets that are lost, destroyed or misplaced cannot be replaced.
Who else gets a second chance
Sunday and full weekend tickets are held back in limited numbers for full-time permanent residents who live and are registered in the local catchment area and missed out in the coach and general admission sales. Those residents have to try the main sales first, because the festival expects the local sale to be oversubscribed. Details appear only after the general release, and residents eligible for village tickets are contacted in the New Year.
Hospitality tickets for media and music industry workers are sold by the festival on an application basis, with applications opening in early spring 2027.
Each of those routes needs a registration. Registration closed on 25 September and reopens after the October sales, which puts the spring resale out of reach for anyone who was not already registered.
What the pages do not say yet
No date is given for the sell-out itself, none for the spring resale, and no figure for how many tickets come back. The 2027 line-up is unpublished, and the festival's news list on 12 October carried no separate item about the sell-out.
The discussion is easier to see than the numbers. On r/glastonbury_festival, the pinned threads on 12 October were "I GOT TICKETS" and "I DIDN'T GET TICKETS" megathreads posted about eight days earlier, and a thread titled "Syndicates are dead" showed 230 votes and 336 comments. Those counters record how much people were talking, not how many tickets changed hands.
